Guacamole

Ingredients:

  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • ½ cup red onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 medium tomatoes (finely chopped)
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic
  • 1 green capsicum (finely chopped)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Splash of sweet chilli sauce or tobasco (optional; very different flavours, so take your pick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Method:

Mash avocados; chop onion, tomatoes and capsicum; squeeze lemon juice; add garlic and splash of sweet chilli sauce or tobasco.
Combine all ingredients together.
Season with salt and pepper.
Stand for 20 to 30 minutes for the flavours to mingle.
Serve with corn chips, or as a healthier alternative, bagel crisps and carrot sticks.

Avocados can be used as natural hair and skin treatments... try them as a soothing night-­‐time eye treatment, a mask for dry or oily skin, a moisturizer, or mash half an avocado with a tablespoon each of plain yoghurt and honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice, and leave on your face for 10 to 15 minutes as an exfoliating treatment.
